Anthony D. (Tony) Ziherl '51
The Anthony D. (Tony) Ziherl ‘51 Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1984 by Mrs. June Ziherl in honor and memory of her late husband. Tony Ziherl received his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering in 1951 from Case Institute of Technology as well as his master’s degree in engineering administration in 1958. While an undergraduate, Ziherl was an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering as well as the Society of Automotive Engineers. In 1962, Ziherl co-founded the Euclid-based Missel Corporation of America – a custom manufacturer of component parts for aircraft and automotive vehicles. Tony served as Executive Vice President of the company which, during that time, was experiencing over $12 million in annual sales. In 1970, U.S. Industries, Incorporated bought the very successful Missel Corporation of America. Mr. Ziherl then enjoyed a lengthy and prosperous career as an independent investment consultant.
