Arthur H Benade
Arthur H Benade (d) was a professor at the Case Institute of Technology from 1952-1987, and for the first fifteen years his research area was nuclear physics and instrumentation. In his pioneering research on brass and woodwind instruments, Benade effectively combined theory and engineering practice in his study of their acoustics, tone production, and response, becoming an international authority in the field. The Arthur H. Benade Fund for Physics was established by alumni, family and friends in 1990 to support the department of Physics and a senior prize to benefit a student who is not a music major, but who makes a significant contribution to music on campus during their time at Case.
