Arthur I. Mendolia ‘41
Arthur I. Mendolia ‘41 (d) graduated from the Case School of Applied Science with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He joined the duPont Company in 1941 as a research engineer, Mendolia retired in 1973 as Vice President and General Manager of the Explosives Department. From 1973 to 1975, he served as Assistant Secretary of Defense under Presidents Nixon and Ford. Mr. Mendolia returned to the private sector as President of Halcon International in New York City and Chairman of Oxirane International in Princeton. In 1981, he and Cyril Baldwin co-founded Cambrex Corporation of Rutherford, New Jersey and Mendolia served as its Chairman and CEO from 1981 to 1987 and remained a Director until 1995. The Arthur I. Mendolia ‘41 Scholarship Fund was established in 1998 with the intent to provide undergraduate scholarships to rising juniors and seniors in the Case School of Engineering.
