Charles J. Meloun '42
Mr. Charles J. Meloun (d) graduated from Case Institute of Technology in 1942 with a degree in electrical engineering. Immediately following school, he joined General Electric and served many years on site in Schenectady, NY. In 1958, Mr. Meloun joined the Hendersonville, NC GE Outdoor Light Department as engineering manager, advancing to general manager. Throughout his stay in North Carolina, he served as a member of the Governor’s Council on Economic Development. Then, in 1968, Mr. Meloun was named Vice President of the General Electric Company, headquartered in Pittsfield, MA. Both Mr. Meloun, and his wife, Eleanora, were active members of the community where they lived. They served many community organizations and were avid supporters of community growth and involvement. Following his death in 1997, Eleanora established a scholarship fund in 2001 in honor of her late husband and his loyalty to Case.
