James A. Krumhansl ‘40

James A. Krumhansl ‘40 (d) received his degree in Physics from the Case School of Applied Science. Krumhansl spent many years as a Physics professor at Cornell University. Krumhansl served under President Jimmy Carter on the National Science Foundation as assistant director for physical sciences, engineering and mathematics. From 1980-1987 he served as associate director of research for Union Carbide’s National Carbon Company’s basic research laboratory in Parma, Ohio. He established the Krumhansl Fund for Women in Science to provide support for travel, meetings, books, modest equipment and visiting lectures.
