John B. deHamel, Jr. ‘48 (d), majored in Civil Engineering at the Case Institute Of Technology. The John B. deHamel ‘48 Memorial Prize Fund was established in 1984 by the family and friends of deHamel. This fund supports prize awards for students or student organizations competing in the annual Engineer’s Week competitions. deHamel was the president of J.B. deHamel Jr and Associates, a consulting engineering firm. His construction management expertise gilded the complete renovation of the Albert W. Smith Chemical Engineering Building.
