John F. Wallace
John F. Wallace (d), was a professor of Material Science for 36 years at the Case Institute of Technology, and he spent another 8 years at Case conducting research and writing grant proposals. Areas of research interest included casting technology, solidification of metals, effects of the structure of metals and alloys on mechanical properties. The John F. Wallace Fund was established in 1995 as a prize fund for students in Materials Science. The foundry at Case bears his name and Republic Steel endowed a chair at Case in his honor.
