Paul W. Oligny '54
The Paul W. Oligny ’54 Scholarship was established in 1992 by a bequest from Paul Oligny, a loyal alumnus of Case. Oligny, a native Canadian, worked for several years following high school and completed a three year tour of duty with the United States Army during WWII before he came to Case School of Applied Science in 1946. Oligny had always maintained a sincere interest in engineering throughout his life and excelled academically at what had previously been a dream and hobby. Paul, an active member of both ASME and Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, earned his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering in 1954. He held several positions with a variety of companies including Central Brass Manufacturing Company, Ohio Bell Telephone, General Electric and the Cleveland-based Ajax Manufacturing Company, from which he retired in 1982.
