Philip A. Legge ‘43, MS ‘48
Philip A. Legge ‘43, MS ‘48 (d) graduated from the Case School of Applied Science with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. As a member of the original U.S. Navy V-12 graduating class, Legge served as an officer in the Navy for three years before returning to Case where he earned a Master of Science degree in industrial engineering in 1948. From 1948 to 1957, he held executive positions in industry. By 1957, he was named Assistant to the President of Case Institute of Technology and Case Western Reserve University, a position he held for 31 years and for six presidents of these institutions. The Philip A. Legge ’43 Sigma Alpha Epsilon Scholarship Fund was established by a group of alumni in honor of the 90-year tradition of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at Case. The scholarship was named in honor of Philip Legge, Ohio Rho ’43, who for more than three decades served Case, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and his classmates.
