Philip K. “Nip” Heim

Philip K. “Nip” Heim (d) CIT Director of Athletics, 1948-1974. Friends and alumni in recognition of Mr. Heim’s 26 years of service as a loyal friend, devoted teacher, considerate coach, and outstanding director of athletics at Case Institute of Technology established the Philip K. (Nip) Heim Scholarship Fund in 1974. His interest and ability in coaching developed in Canal Fulton, Ohio, where he was principal of the high school in addition to being the athletics coach. In 1948, Mr. Heim joined Case Institute of Technology as a physical education instructor and coach of the Rough Riders basketball team.
