Ray Ride

Ray Ride (d), Coach Ride served as the head football coach and director of athletics for 24 years (1930-1954) during which time, he continued the strong tradition of varsity sports at Case. He was only the tenth head football coach to have served the school since its founding in 1880. In 1940 Coach Ray A. Ride had the distinct honor of having the Case School of Applied Science football teams named for him: The Rough Riders. Coach Ride was one of the first coaches to be so venerated with a namesake team. The Ray A. Ride Scholarship Fund was established in 1976 by devoted alumni of Case Institute of Technology.
