Rick L. Shipley ‘74

Rick L. Shipley ‘74 (d) graduated from the Case Institute of Technology with a degree in Polymer Engineering. At Dow Chemical Co., he worked to develop an instant-set polymer. He was a foundational partner along with founder, Erich Bredl, of Intrepid Industries Inc. of La Porte, TX. They created the Intrepid Single Bar and Double Bar Safety Gates, Grating Penetration Collars, and other products for applications in chemical and industrial plants. The Rick L Shipley ‘74 Memorial Scholarship was established in 2016 to provide scholarship support for students studying polymer chemistry or engineering.
