Stephan Family

Stephan Family

The Stephan Family Scholarship Fund was established in 2004 by Alice M. Stephan and family. The fund is endowed by gifts from Alice, family, and friends. The fund provides merit-based scholarship support for men and women who pursue technical undergraduate degrees from Case Western Reserve University. The family consists of three (3) sons – all Case alumni. Charles graduated in 1961 with a BS Chemistry. Paul Jr. graduated in 1964 with a BS in Mathematics. Donald graduated in 1974 with a BS in Management Science. Each son received a full tuition scholarship from the school. Each son paid the balance of their college expenses from savings and summer jobs. The parents never wrote a check to Case. Before his death in 1988, Alice and Paul (her husband) discussed the excellent education their sons received at Case and the fact that they never wrote a check to the school. Because of this, after Paul Sr.’s death Alice initiated the fund.
